- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup whipped topping
- 2 cups cranberry juice cocktail
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the crushed pretzels, granulated sugar, and melted butter in a bowl. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
- In a saucepan, combine the cranberry juice cocktail, water, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Stir in the fresh cranberries. Pour the cranberry mixture over the cream cheese layer.
- Refrigerate the salad for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Cut into squares and serve chilled.
