  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter, then add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm but the centers remain soft.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
