- 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and ginger, sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chicken thighs and cook until browned on both sides.
- Sprinkle the garam masala over the chicken, pouring in the heavy cream.
- Simmer for 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Meanwhile, rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add the rice and salt, reduce to low heat, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.
- Serve the butter chicken over the rice.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add fresh cilantro as a garnish.
- Adjust the spice level by adding chili powder if desired.
