Stick of Butter Chicken and Rice

A comforting dish featuring rich butter chicken served over rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger, sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the chicken thighs and cook until browned on both sides.
  4. Sprinkle the garam masala over the chicken, pouring in the heavy cream.
  5. Simmer for 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Meanwhile, rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  7. In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add the rice and salt, reduce to low heat, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.
  8. Serve the butter chicken over the rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add fresh cilantro as a garnish.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding chili powder if desired.
