Strawberry Turnovers

A delicious treat for any occasion, these strawberry turnovers are easy to make and absolutely irresistible.

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chopped strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut into squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of the strawberry mixture in the center of each square.
  5. Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and press the edges to seal.
  6. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra flavor twist, add a dash of lemon juice to the strawberry mixture.
  • These turnovers can be served warm or at room temperature.
